USA Football becomes the 38th national governing body for the Summer Olympics, tasked with overseeing all aspects of American football, including the selection, training, and supervision of the US men's and women's national teams. Its ability to assume this role as a strong national governing body is partly due to the support of the National Football League (NFL).

Scott Hallenbeck, the CEO of USA Football, said in an interview with the Associated Press, "This is truly a historic moment. It's like officially stepping through the door of the Olympic movement and becoming part of this big family. It's an incredibly exciting and thrilling time for all of us at USA Football and for the entire sport." With the 2028 LA Olympics approaching, the world will soon witness the exciting moments brought by flag football.
