Alberobello in Italy is renowned as the "Heavenly Town". It used to be a barren land with extremely harsh natural conditions. The earliest stone houses can be traced back to the 12th century. Nowadays, Alberobello preserves more than 1,000 uniquely shaped stone-roofed houses. It can be truly called the "Home of Stone-Roofed Houses" in the world and was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.

On Italy's proud list of world heritage sites, the Cinque Terre, nestled among mountains and by the sea, is definitely a town that is both ordinary and unique.
